Stowaway[]
While walking and sailing ships are the most common way to travel, there are many transportation options available to help you get around the islands:
To become a stowaway, approach a Dockworker, and request passage. Dockworkers can be found on the main dock of the islands.
- Fletcher Beakman works onPort Royal
- Horatio Fowler works on Tortuga
- Elijah Minor works on Cuba
- Henry Lowman works on Padres Del Fuego
A Dockworker will then crate you up as cargo and stow you away on the next ship bound for the port city of your choosing. Stowing away will cost you a bit of gold, depending on your destination, but your journey is guaranteed to be a safe one. We still recommend you learn to sail as soon as you’re able – in Captain Jack Sparrow’s words – “it’s your freedom.”
Ships[]
Ships will carry you only as fast as the wind blows. You will get your first ship, a Light Sloop when Elizabeth Swann sends you on a special quest. This ship is enough to get you around the Caribbean, but because it only has two cannons, you will be extremely vulnerable. As soon as possible, you'll want to buy a bigger, better ship from a Shipwright. Learn more about Ships.
Teleportation[]
The voodoo mystics and gypsies of the islands have devised a magical way for Pirates to get around the islands -- it’s called teleporting and it’s the quickest way to travel around the Caribbean. You’ll get your first Teleport Totem from Lucinda the gypsy on Port Royal when you complete a quest for her.
