Pirates will automatically detect your video card and monitor's resolution capabilities, and will enable display settings it believes your system will handle. If trying a setting crashes the game, you may want to change or reduce your display setting for stability and better game performance. We've also added a Graphice Options menu in the Launcher that will allow you to select a Graphics library suitable to your computer's video card.
How long does it take to download Pirates of the Caribbean Online, and will I have to download it more than once?
Depending on your Internet connection, the initial download should be approximately 15 minutes. Patches, new content and subsequent downloads of game updates should take considerably less time.

Yes, but you will have to configure the proxy or firewall to allow traffic on port 80, 443, and 7667. You will also need to add PiratesOnline.com to either the safe or exception list.
Please refer to your proxy and firewall applications for detailed instructions to include PiratesOnline.com as a safe program.
Windows XP spontaneously rebooted while I was playing Pirates of the Caribbean Online.
This means Windows XP crashed. By default, XP is set to reboot itself automatically after an OS crash. You can change this setting under: Control Panel | System | Advanced | Start-up and Recovery.
Due to the OS design, WinXP can only crash because of a hardware problem (such as bad memory chips) or a device driver problem. Device drivers are usually the cause. Pirates Online exercises the video driver heavily, so you will want to make sure you have installed the latest drivers from your graphics card manufacturer, and the latest motherboard drivers from your PC or motherboard manufacturer (Dell, HP, Intel, Asus, Via etc.).
How do I uninstall Pirates of the Caribbean Online?
Go to: Start Menu | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs. Find Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Online and click Remove to uninstall the game.
Note: Uninstalling does NOT delete the Pirates you have created. Your account information is stored entirely on our servers, so it is safe to uninstall and reinstall the game.
Can I play Pirates of the Caribbean Online on multiple PCs?
You can install Pirates Online on multiple machines, but you can only log in to one account at a time. We do not currently allow multiple simultaneous log-ins from the same account.
What kind of information does Pirates of the Caribbean Online put onto my computer's hard drive?
Pirates Online only installs game software onto your hard drive that is required for playing. This is why you need at least 700 megabytes of space available on your hard drive. To find out how much space is available on your C Drive, double-click on "My Computer" and highlight the C Drive. The available space will be displayed on left side of your screen.
What does it mean if I see the message "Server is closed for maintenance" when I try to log into Pirates of the Caribbean Online?
Disney is in the process of updating the game with new features and product fixes, which will automatically be downloaded and installed the next time you log into the game.
I tried launching the game but received the "Pirates appears to be temporarily unavailable, still trying..." message instead.
Sometimes the game server encounters problems just as a home computer would and needs to be restarted. In most cases, you will only experience a short wait before being able to play the game again.
What does it mean when I see "Can't connect to server" when trying to log into the game?
This could be an issue with your Internet connection. Check to make sure that your Internet connection is available and that any proxy or firewall application installed is properly configured to allow PiratesOnline.com access to the Internet.
I tried to play Pirates of the Caribbean Online, and it says I don't have enough memory, I have 40 Gigabytes!
This error refers to RAM, not disk space on your hard drive. Pirates Online needs at least 1GB of RAM, so anything less will either give you this error, or seriously affect game performance if you are able to launch the game.
What if I am trying to run but can't move?
This is a server issue. We schedule our maintenance and updates on weekdays during off hours, usually 12:00 - 1:00 AM PST (3:00 - 4:00 AM EST). We make great efforts to keep the servers up outside of these hours. However, sometimes unforeseen events force them to go down at other times. We try to correct these situations as soon as possible.
What if I can't reconnect to the game after being kicked off?
Your computer may have lost Internet connection, which could be caused by your ISP dropping the connection.
If you're not able to connect to the Internet using a browser window (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) then you most likely are experiencing a problem with your ISP and should contact them for further troubleshooting.
If you connect to the Internet through a router and seem to lose connection at regular intervals, the firmware on your router may be outdated. To obtain the latest version of firmware, or for more information about firmware, please visit the router manufacturer's Web site.
Note: Often times, a simple restart of the computer and/or the router will reactivate your Internet connection.
What does it mean if I keep experiencing pauses or performance issues during game play?
Graphics smoothness may be choppy when there are a large number of Pirates in the same area. When this happens, try going to a less populated Ocean or another island.
You can also lower your display settings or turn off special effects in the Game Options Panel. RAM, Processor, CPU speed, and Video Cards are also factors in game performance. The more powerful the system you have, the better your real-time game experience will be. Please review Pirates of the Caribbean Online Minimum Requirements by clicking here .
What if I have trouble with sound effects or music?
You can disable or adjust the volumes for both sound and music on the Sound tab of the Game Options Panel.
What if I keep getting kicked off the game?
Because Pirates of the Caribbean Online employs the latest 3D features of current video cards, it is necessary to stay up to date with your video card's latest software drivers. Upgrading to the latest drivers from the card manufacturer's or vendor's Web site may prevent this problem from happening again.
Afterward, we suggest that you uninstall and reinstall Pirates Online. Doing so will not affect your account or Pirates, as that information is stored on our servers. If you continue to have problems after following these suggestions, please submit another bug report.
