The Wicked Wench was originally a ship that served the East India Trading Company under Cutler Beckett's command before renamed as the Black Pearl. After Jack Sparrow "liberated" the ship and her inhumane cargo, Cutler Beckett had the Wicked Wench burned and sunk, along with Jack being branded as a pirate.
At some point, the Wicked Wench also joined forces with a pirate fleet to end Captain Salazar's region of terror who had the intention of eliminating all pirates across the seven seas. When the Wicked Wench and Salazar's ship, the Silent Mary, came across an dark eerie area known as the Devil's Triangle, the Silent Mary was outsmarted by Jack Sparrow's command of the Wicked Wench, resulting in a fate of death for both Salazar and his crew right after the Silent Mary entered the Triangle and burned in flames from gunpowder.
After the Wicked Wench was sunk by Cutler Beckett's orders, Jack Sparrow was not ready to lose his beloved ship. To recover the ship, he called upon Davy Jones with an agreement that Jones could have Jack's soul after serving as her captain for thirteen years. When the ship was recovered, the ship gained a new black color and was renamed. Despite Jack only serving the Black Pearl as captain for two years before being marooned, Jones still wanted him to pay his debt. Jones asked Bootstrap Bill Turner to warn Jack about his debt, in which Jack was offered the Black Spot that would signify the Kraken to come after him.
